7th Sabah International Folkdance Competition

Eighteen countries took part in the 7th Sabah International Falkdance Competition Final on 16th July 2012, held at the Sabah Cultural Centre, Penampang.
The festival (competition and other activities) was held from 9th July 2012 - 16 July 2012.
The participating countries are:

A cheering China troupe after winning the Prime Award for the second consecutive year.

Culture Minister Award won by the Philippines

The lively dance by Poland won them the Highest Online Presence Award.

Best Promising Female Dancer:

Kazakhstan troupe demonstrates their women love working and entertainment at the same time.
The Chief Minister's Award went to Nigeria, while the Philippines won the Culture Minister Award.
Kazakhstan took the Sabah Cultural Board Award.
The Best Performance Award was won by Taiwan.
The Best Choreography Award was awarded to Latvia team.
Egypt was voted the most popular Troupe.
The Appreciation Award For Debutante went to the Czech Republic.

The Prime Award was won by China. This is the second consecutive year in which China has won the Prime title at the event.
Toh Puan Norlidah R.M. Jani, wife of Head of State Tun Juhar Mahirudin, gave away the main awards.
Also present at prize giving ceremony were Datuk Masidi Majun, Sabah Minister of Tourism,Culture & Enviroment, Assistant Minister cum President of the Organizing Committee of 7th Sabah International Folklore Festival, 2012 Datuk Bolkiah Ismail and Sabah Cultural Board chairman cum Vice Chairman of the organizing Committee, Datuk Seri Panglima Wences Anggang .
China troupe presents the "Wedding Ceremony on water".

Latvia

The Clog dance by Latvia won them the Best Choreography Award"

Poland

Fancy moves of Poland earned them the Jury's Award and the Best Promising Female Dancer.

Taiwan

The hill tribes from Taiwan used flowers and plants as probs to express their love of Mothe Nature.

Thailand

Although Thailand troupe did not win any prize, but their realistic fighting dance liven up the event.

Nigeria

Nigeria, the winner of the Chief Minister's Award, brought the crowd to a new height that night.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka troupe's steps and moves closely resembled that of Indian dances.
